Associations in the gambling industry, together with the National Council for Self-regulation, have started joint work on supplementing and updating the existing Ethical Rules for advertising and commercial communication of Gambling Games.
This became clear during a meeting held on last Thursday, attended by the representatives of the Association of gaming industry in Bulgaria; Bulgarian gaming association; Bulgarian gambling association; and Association of organizers of gambling games and activities in Bulgaria.
The participants concluded that the existing rules of the National Council for Self-regulation need to be supplemented by the addition of texts from the recently signed Memorandum between the licensed organizers of online betting for the responsible advertisement of gambling games.
According to Eli Gerganova, chairman of the National Council for Self-regulation, the aim to actualize the rules according to the current needs of the society. The Memorandum, supported by the licenced operators, includes: no participation in gambling advertisements of people under the age of 23; no announcements of monetary and material prized and bonuses in electronic media; no broadcasting of television gambling commercial in the time range between 5:00am – 6:00pm; no outdoor commercial near schools; and every advertisement in electronic media to include a message about responsible gaming.
