The official Spanish regulator announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2016.
Spain.- The Spanish regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego announced that the country’s online gambling market went through a significant growth from June to September of this year.
The online gambling revenue totaled US$112 million during the third quarter, an increase of 22 percent compared to the same period in 2015. Online casino operations reported a 56 percent increase in revenue to US$31.4 million, and slot games gained US$15.2 million whilst roulette operations went up to US$11.7 million.
Revenue also went up from the second quarter, when the regulator reported a gross gambling revenue growth of 56 percent year-on-year compared to the US$120 million from 2015. The total handle from that period was up 33 percent to more than US$3.5 million, a figure that also increased from the first quarter.
