The law on the Bulgarian state budget for 2024 of the Republic of Bulgaria was promulgated today in an extraordinary issue of the State Gazette. The budget was finally adopted at the second reading on December 21. It foresees an increase in income and pensions. It stipulates that from next year the minimum wage will be BGN 933.
Gambling fees have been increased with the state budget, with expected revenues, according to the Finance Ministry’s estimates, amounting to BGN 200 million. The Members of Parliament agreed to provide an additional 68 million BGN in the budget for 2024 for the “Culture” sector. They decided that the amount of the one-time aid for students enrolled in the eighth grade for the academic year 2024-2025 should be BGN 300. The MPs decided on the minimum amount of the fiscal reserve until the end of 2024 to be in the amount of BGN 4.5 billion, as well as the maximum amount of the state debt by the end of 2024 not to exceed BGN 48 billion. The Members of Bulgarian Parliament agreed that the maximum amount of the new state debt that can be assumed during the year should be BGN 11.7 billion. The projected deficit is 3%, with revenues amounting to BGN 43.4 billion and expenses BGN 23.6 billion.
