The global online gaming industry has once again gathered in Portugal, where the SBC Lisbon exhibition is taking place. The event brings together the most influential companies in the industry, as well as representatives of regulators, technology providers, operators, and experts. The Bulgarian presence is remarkable. Among the domestic companies presenting innovative solutions are CT Interactive, EGT Digital, Amusnet, 7777 Gaming, Pate Play, and others.
In recent years, Bulgaria has established itself as a technological hub in the sector, and the participation of these firms with booths and experts once again proves the leading role of our country in the industry, as well as its regional strength as a natural bridge to the Balkan markets.
One of the highlights of the accompanying conference was the panel discussion “Crossing Borders: Cross-Selling in Balkan Markets,” moderated by Rossi McKee, co-owner of CT Interactive, Telematic Interactive, and CT Gaming. During the panel, both the challenges and opportunities of operating across different jurisdictions in the region were outlined.
The discussion turned into a lively exploration of one of the most complex regions in the global gaming industry. The Balkans feature a mixture of unique regulations, diverse consumer habits, and advertising restrictions, making the market colorful yet not particularly easy to navigate. At the same time, as participants noted, the region is united by cultural proximity and the central role of sports betting, which serves as a natural entry point into new verticals.
The panel also featured Alexander Popov, Director of “Control over Gambling and Gambling Activities” at the National Revenue Agency. He emphasized the need for transparency, compliance with the law, and responsible growth. His remarks reminded the audience that innovation must always be accompanied by sustainability mechanisms.
With skillful moderation, Rossi McKee conveyed the complete picture of the industry in the region, highlighting both the opportunities and the responsibilities facing the Balkan gaming sector.
The strong presence of Bulgarian companies and professionals at SBC Lisbon is indicative that in this field our country is among the leaders, not only shaping the future of the local market but also offering innovative technological solutions to some of the most important challenges in international gaming.
